Dear Parents,

Spring is right around the corner and we are looking forward to our fabulous spring curriculum.  We will begin by celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2, 2009. We will continue by marking all the signs of spring. Our science and literacy themes will include eggs, wind, mud, and lots of friendly insects.

Our afternoon winter activities will also continue through March.  The children have loved them. We enjoyed a wonderful pirate adventure at book club on Wednesday. Yoga, Irish Step Dancing, and Sign Language are also drawing big crowds and the visiting teachers have praised our children. We take pictures at all these activities; be sure to stop by and see them.

We sent two teachers to a course this month, taught by Paul Crosby and Rosanne. The course is called Teaching and Learning and it was geared for pre school teachers. They got a lot out of it and plan to share what they learned with the rest of the staff.

I will also be attending a course. The world famous Gesell Institute is coming to Marblehead's Tower School next week and I was fortunate enough to get a spot in the class. I am excited and will use what I learn to create workshops for our teachers.

And, the last thing we are working on is updating our NAEYC accreditation. We are one of the few schools who hold this accreditation and it must be reviewed each year. We are in the process of finishing it for this year.

Please look for our summer camp brochure coming soon. We change from school to camp at the end of June and work hard to provide a fun filled program. Each week is a different theme and we take full advantage of the outdoors. We also will have swim lessons for the older children. More details later.

Think Spring,

Any one who is dropping off or picking up needs to be notified of this new procedure. They will be asked for a picture ID at the door if they are not recognized as an authorized person. Please make sure that all authorized people are listed in your child's file.
